Good thing they got defensive depth, most notably in the form of Boychuk.
Oh wait.......... |

Wow, if he has ligament damage that's insane that he just stood there and skated off. Must have insane pain tolerance. I was starting to think Charas legs were impervious. Just wow. |

Everyone is making a bit much of Boychuck. He is a good number 4 defenceman. While I'm sure boston could use him right now there will be others available that can do the same job. They got 3 picks for a guy who is headed towards free agency. Not a bad haul. |

Boychuk would be the top defenseman on your team too. |

As much as everyone poops on Dion he is better than Boychuck. Also, I wasn't saying Boychuk isn't good, he's just not some all star like people have made him out to be since he was traded. |

Are you related to Johnny or something? Cause I'm pretty sure anyone who doesn't just hate the leafs would admit that Phaneuf would be the better option. |

Well if nothing else, I'm 100% more impartial than yourself... and I don't hate the Leafs.
Just my opinion.

How exactly are you more impartial? Because I think a leafs player is better because his stats have been better every year of his career? I also think Boychuk isn't even the best defenceman on his current team. Hamonic is/will be. |

The Leafs have a better chance of beating the Bruins this Saturday because of this, that's for sure. |

Way better chance that's for sure!!! But boston finds a way to get up for games against the leafs. Will be a good 4 weeks for teams to try and take points from the b's. |

Its not even close man. Not even close. Dion=top30 dman in league. Boychuck barely scratches top 100.
Is Dion overpaid? Yes. Was he over rated? Yes. Is he better than boychuck? Lol yes. |

Tavares is so good he can even injure a much larger player, while falling down.
Actually wasn't even a brutal check, effort wise. Zed jus stepped up on JT as he was skating toward the net and then JT ran into a wall. Chara didn't even seem to move. - jmo16
Is that the hit where he got hurt? The one where Tavares got knocked flat? Can't blame Johnny for that one- he took a serious beating....same as any of us would if we crashed into Chara. Talk about being unlucky.. Hope he comes back soon- he's one of my favorite players...wish we had him....oh, wait....DOH! Thank you, Mike Milbury..., |

Phaneuf is a better offensive player, for sure. I think I'd rather have Boychuk in my lineup, though. He's a solid defenseman, and he seems like a loyal sort, and good in the room. Not saying Phaneuf isn't any of those things, but with Boychuk, I could tell from the things he said day one that he expects to have a responsibility for us, and he welcomes it. He's a keeper, and I hope they write that check. |

Phaneuf must welcome responsibility too resigning a 7 year deal to be the captain of the leafs and all. Boychuk is good but the people who put him as high up as Phaneuf just hate on Dion. I get it too. Not the biggest Dion fan but I know what he is and it's a hell of a lot better than people give him credit for. |
